Beauty of the Rann Captured in Weaves

The region of Kutch is culturally rich with various weaving techniques, embroidery, block printing, tie & dye, and several other handcrafts. We work with cotton and wool weavers in the region of Bhuj. The techniques used are extra weft insertion resulting in colourful Kutchi motifs, most common of which are chowmukh and damru. The weavers also spin indegenous wool and convert them into shawls.

Recently, Kala cotton, an indigenous cotton variety grown only in the arid region of Kutch, has been the prevalent raw material of the weaving community. It is organic, indigenous, hand-spun and handwoven, making it one of the most sustainable fibres. Our products are a blend of cotton, kala cotton and wool.
